Today, the hugely influential music press, NME, named it’s Top 21 Albums of 2012 so far. Of those 21, Mushroom looks after six, including three on our international record label Liberator.
This includes:
Jack White – Blunderbuss
The Maccabees – Given To The Wild
Sleigh Bells – Reign of Terror
Oberhofer – Time Capsules II
Graham Coxon – A+E
The Cribs – In The Belly Of The Brazen Bull
We’ve also started using RDIO and are getting straight to work, presenting you now five of those six albums (The Cribs coming to RDIO May 15) in a nifty playlist for you to plug into. Enjoy

We are stoked to announce that we have recently inked a deal with Elizabeth Harper known under the moniker of Class Actress.
The name Class Actress comes from Harper’s decision to pursue a drama major at college. The act first caught our attention at CMJ last year where they were definitely a highlight for the week long New York music conference.
Class Actress offers listeners with juicy melodies accompanied by vintage synth and drum machines, capturing the best of the 80’s and presenting the music in a way that feels at home with modern club music.
Some general references for Class Actresses sound include Madonna, New Order, Charli XCX and recent Mushroom signees Chairlift. Check out the this bangin’ clip for the track ‘Weekend’ from the Rapprocher Longplayer.
The bands first EP ‘The Journal Of Ardency’ was released to much acclaim in 2010 on Chris Taylor’s (Grizzly Bear) label Terrible records. Following on from the bands first success was the acts debut LP ‘Rapprocher’ which was released by Carpark Records (Beach House, Cloud Nothings, Memory Tapes, Toro y Moi) in the States at the end of last year, and locally by Stop Start/EMI earlier this year.
